New laser cut Reading Nook, Caned Sofa and Lace kits in 1:48 scale"
Hi Everyone,
These photos above are quarter scale, 1:48 items. I've been working on since I last blogged. I also spent a few weeks organizing all of my supplies and studio, sewing room and collectibles room, so much easier to find everything and best of all it has made me feel wonderful. I used lots of new plastic containers from Michaels which really helped. The first photo shows a Reading Nook in an Armoire, I've been having so much fun designing this kit and I'm working on another one as well that I will post when it is finished. I hope you are all enjoying minis in some small way!! Hugs, Jean

New Quarter Scale 1:48 Kits for August
I hope you have all had a terrific summer or winter for those downunder!
I am sitting at my computer working on designs for new kits for October, talking to Alex, our son while he is packaging kits, John is sitting across from us working at his computer too, I suddenly realized I hadn't done a blog for August (or July)!!! Since it is the last day of August, I thought I would do a blog today. I am always so optimistic that I will have lots of time to look at everyone's blogs, do lots of blogging and many new designs, it just doesn't work out that way..
Sheee, it seems the older I get the more time flies and I really mean that!!!! However with the beautiful weather we have been having, I have to admit walking with John along the beach and along to waterfront to sit at the Marina or Oak Bay Beach Hotel for tea is a top priority. It is good for my health too and usually takes an hour of walking. I really enjoy cooking our gluten free, vegan meals too and have loved great vegan recipes from cookbooks such as Oh She Glows and Forks before Knives. There is a great documentary on vegetarian eating on Netflix too called Forks before Knives if you have every thought of becoming vegetarian it is very good.
Above are some quarter scale kits I designed for Quarter Connection Roundtables and Shelly's Miniature Mini Show last month. I hope to have them up on our website soon and Etsy too.

New 1:48, Quarter Scale Laser Cut and Engraved Kits
Oh my goodness, I can't believe it has been a year since I have posted a blog!! I hope you have all been happy and are feeling blessed.
I am so grateful with how well our business of miniatures has done through the years, especially the last 3 years of selling laser cut and engraved 1:48 scale kits. It has been very rewarding to receive such a positive response. Recently I've been trying a few designs on heavier paper and have really enjoyed the results. You can see and example above of 1:48 plates, platters, boxes and book covers. With a bit of embossing they really start to look like plates, they can be painted too. Above you can see a grouping of new kits I've designed recently for our Yahoo Quarter Connection Roundtables and Mega Roundtables in June. After that time I will have them on our website, Etsy and eBay. I've also been having fun making fimo flowers, I will share those with you soon as well.
Take care everyone and than you so much for those of you who might meander over to my blog and have a look. Mini Hugs, Jean

New Quarter Scale 1:48 kit, Nautical Shelf and Boathouse Theater
I'm very sorry for being away from blogging for so long!! I had a surprise operation on my knee on March 18 during Shelly's Show, poor John had to take orders and send invoices until I was on my feet again but I managed with the orders. I say it was a surprise because when I went to see the specialist on the 17th he mentioned my operation probably wouldn't be until the fall but he had an opening for the following morning. I felt so tired for a while but it was a simple operation to fix a torn meniscus. I'm excited because we will hopefully get back to ballroom dancing again in September. I'm doing lots of exercises that are helping, biking and walking. It is sure better than it was before.
The first photo shows a new kit I recently finished in quarter scale with a Nautical theme shelf and Boathouse Theater. I thought it would be fun for a boys' room in quarter scale for him to put on the floor and change backgrounds and boats. It will be a roundtable kit for the quarter connection Yahoo Group happening in June. I'm designing other kits too that I hope to have up soon.
The bottom three photos I took while we were walking to the Oak Bay Marina, Victoria B.C. which is not too far away from us. We are so lucky to live so close to the beach. The middle photo shows Geese with their Goslings (5 I think).
I love nautical themes and have many nautical French postcards from the early 1900's that I have used in collages which are handy for gift tags in my Etsy.
