Free Printable of a Spring Song
I hope you enjoy this new free printable.I really loved this sweet image that was on the cover of one of my vintage needlework books. Just imaging getting a magazine with this image on the cover in the mail, so many must have been delighted. It is filled with such joy and I can just hear the birds chirping. Outside one day I heard so many birds chirping all at once, it was like a choir, really amazing.
We just got back from visiting my oldest son Tony and his partner Georgia in Huntington Beach LA. It was wonderful to see them again and our favorite granddog Artie. We really enjoyed the sunny weather and wonderful restaurants with so many Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Vegetarian offerings. So different than when I started being Gluten Free about 28 years ago. They gave us such a wonderful time while we were there too!! Tony and Georgia are coming out with a new EP soon and produce their music under the name LIINKS, their song The Break was on radios across Canada last year. We are very happy and wish them loads of success.
I'm back to mini designing again and have been enjoying many new lace designs I hope to have finished soon. Shelly's show "A Mini Miniature Show" which is not so mini any more is coming soon so be on the look out for that March 17 to March 20.
Happy Miniing or any other Creative Outlet you are into at this time!

My new Laser Cutter has taken over my life!!
I hope you all had a wonderful summer or winter if you live down under! We were very busy and I'm so sorry I have neglected my blog. We went on a terrific family reunion to Saskatoon Saskatchewan and it was awesome. I met up with so many second cousins that I had only met before through Ancestry and facebook!
Memories of my 34 yrs of minis for this blog has really taken a back seat to my new laser cutter that we picked up around the middle of June. I have had so much fun with it and it works with Corel Draw that I have been using since I first started digital miniature designing so that has been a bonus.
The first photo shows our son's French Bulldog, Artie who we have the privilege of looking after quite often. He is standing in front of the laser cutter and always rushes into the room when it is working. The next photos show some of the Quarter Scale designs I have done with the laser cutter that I am selling through our website, Etsy and eBay. I have also added photos to my tutorial blog to accompany some of the directions.
I have been working for the last few week on fireplaces and Halloween Accessories sets with the laser cutter, so that has been really fun! It is so wonderful experimenting and seeing what the machine can do.

2012 Christmas Decor, keeping it simple.
This Christmas I wanted to have my decorations simple in our studio. As well as working in the studio, we watch TV and read at night. Since we spend most of our time in the studio, decorating in it is more important to me. I had been admiring many French blogs with their wonderful stars and simple images for Noel. I started in earlier December by printing out some antique Christmas music and gluing it to card stock and cutting out stars. I then strung them on linen and hung them from the studio mantel piece. It is made of a very large piece of drift wood.
I've collected antique and vintage decorations for quite some time so decorated with them, trying to keep it simple and added candles. We have lit the candles every night since I decorated and love the soft natural glow and tried to show this in the photos. We have had the small tree for a few years and this year I just decorated it with my antique garlands and realized that was really all it need. You can also see John and our son's dog Artie at Butchart Gardens which was beautiful this year and also my center piece on our dining room table.
I was inspired by Kathleen's home at Faded Charm Cottage, her decor is fabulous. I joined her Holiday Home Tour. You might like to go over an check out each of the wonderful links to decorated homes. http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.ca/2012/12/holiday-home-tour-2012-linky-party.html
Thank you so much to all of my fabulous followers..without you I wouldn't feel the need to blog. I hope you have a healthy and happy New Year. Hugs, Jean

Peaceful
Beautiful day!! I took the top photo today on our walk and thought the old boat looked so peaceful, I could have just hopped in and drifted away. I love my life and always feel very blessed but taking photos like this does help me to remember to relax. Today was so warm and very relaxing. We are looking after my son's French Bulldog, Artie this weekend and we took him for a walk along Beach Drive here in Victoria B.C. to the Oak Bay Marina. You can see Artie and me posing for John. It is so nice to be able to sit outside for a drink and look at all the boats in the Marina. The walk only takes us about 45 min.each way from our house so it is good exercise on days when we aren't ballroom dancing.
We have been ballroom dancing Thursday evenings in the Bandshell with the band at Butchart Gardens and it is so wonderful to be able to dance outside. Butchart Gardens is so lovely this time of year.
I just had to add the photo of Artie smiling, I know he is probably just panting but it sure looks like a fabulous smile to me.

Georgia Murray, My Son's Partner, "Cover Me Canada" invited her back for last episode!!
I didn't mention before that Georgia has a new EP out and available through their web site http://georgiamurray.net
The above photo is Artie, their French Bulldog, listening to Georgia on the phone when they were competing in the show. He loved it when I played her videos too. He seems to be a natural music lover!!
Here is a sample from Georgia's new EP, I love it!! Sounds reminiscent of the 50's!

Georgia Murray and Tony Day (my son) "Cover Me Canada" week 3 TV Immunity Yeah!!!!
Georgia actually got to talk to Corey Hart on the computer and he says he will be watching! Our son Tony actually had his hat off tonight.
So.... we get to have Artie, their one year old French Bulldog, staying with us longer, yeah. They are really missing him. We love taking him for walks to the beach, except he ate seaweed today! It might be healthy except for all the added sand, but that might be just added roughage. He lays down under my blanket while we watch TV. He is such a sweetheart. Our cat's noses are a bit out of joint... they are very old and quite set in their ways but they do seem to be tolerating him.
Hugs, Jean
