Swimming into the Past and Paddle Fest at Willows Beach

This is my most recent photomontage of a photo I took at a beach near our house with antique French Postcard images applied and altered. I loved making this image. Every time I walk along beaches I wish I could actually see what went on years ago.

Here is a photo from the Paddle Fest that was happening at our beach this morning. I enjoyed taking so many photos because the kayaks were so colourful. My oldest son enjoys suping which is what the people are doing in the water standing up, it is a great sport. I have kayaked a couple of times and loved it.

  6. Hi Ilona, Thank you so much, yes it was a lot of work but such fun! I like it when I am completely involved in a digital montage, much like miniatures that way. Love the miniatures you have been making.

  7. Hello Jean! What a great day for the Paddle fest on the beach! When the sun is shining there really is no place that is as lovely as the Island and you have transfered the beauty of the water into a unique picture of your own with the French postcard. You do this work so well and when I see this style I think of Monty Python. That British t.v. show use to use old images and superimpose them onto other images and then animate them. Do you remember? Ahead of its time, then, I guess. But what goes around comes back around. Isn't it fun to be able to do at home what used to be done in a big studio production company? Ahhh, technology.....!

  8. Hi Elizabeth, LOL, I loved Monty Python and know exactly the images you mean, funny I never even thought of that, thanks so much for the memories! I took so many colourful photos at the Paddle Fest, so many beautiful coloured kayaks and colourful children's sand buckets too, great morning. Yes.. technology is terrific! Thanks for looking. Hugs, Jean
