Happy Halloween! Free Halloween Printables, Laser Lace
Happy Halloween everyone who celebrates!
I've been having a great time designing new paper lace doilies with Halloween themes as you can see from the photos. I especially enjoyed making the cats designs, if you look closely you can see the tiny cats running around the doilies. There are also leaves. I have also designed many bird doilies in paper I will have in Etsy soon.
The top photo shows a few of my lace collars and cuffs I offer on our website. I wanted to design a setting similar to a shop window to display some of the cotton laser cut lace designs before I put them up on Etsy.
The new Halloween Themed AIM magazine is now available. It is so fantastic with some many miniature ideas and projects. You can read it for free here, just click through the links. http://artisansinminiature.com/
I have included my free printable page for the magazine, just right click on the image to save and print it on your computer if you like. I created this page using my collection of vintage Halloween memorabilia.
Have a wonderful Hallow's Eve!!

What happened to the Summer?? Yikes
Where did the summer go! I just realized I didn't blog in July or August!! I hope you all had wonderful summers or winters depending on where you live.
We were away for a couple of weeks up in Parksville on Vancouver Island and that was fantastic, such beautiful weather.
Redecorating with new floors, furniture and now counter tops in the kitchen took a bit of time moving everything. I love our new linen look so much!
We enjoyed our season's pass to Butchart Gardens and went for picnic lunches about 12 times, so gorgeous and good for the soul. We are so lucky to live so close. I kept working and designing in between so I guess that is where the summer went!! I do love Autumn!
Above you can see 2 new quarter scale laser cut Reading Nook kits I will be selling soon on Etsy and our website, need directions though. They were so much fun, love choosing trims from my vintage stash and printing the silk with designs.
I'm showing the photo above from 46 years ago when John and I were married. It also shows my folks and John's. We just celebrated our 46 anniversary Sunday. We had a lovely dinner and movie. We went to Mama Mia Here We Go Again. I loved it so much, the music is extraordinary.
The new album shown above has just been released by my son Tony Day and Daughter in Love, Gerogia Murray aka LIINKS. It is so exciting and soulful!! It is called Ridge Road and can be listened to on so many music hosting sites such as Spotify and other places. You can buy it on iTunes too. We are so proud of them. Georgia is such a fabulous singer and Tony does the wonderful music and is a producer. They write music for Universal Music Publishing Group.
Well, that is it for today. Oh, yesterday I started making laser cut roses and had a great time.

New laser cut Reading Nook, Caned Sofa and Lace kits in 1:48 scale"
Hi Everyone,
These photos above are quarter scale, 1:48 items. I've been working on since I last blogged. I also spent a few weeks organizing all of my supplies and studio, sewing room and collectibles room, so much easier to find everything and best of all it has made me feel wonderful. I used lots of new plastic containers from Michaels which really helped. The first photo shows a Reading Nook in an Armoire, I've been having so much fun designing this kit and I'm working on another one as well that I will post when it is finished. I hope you are all enjoying minis in some small way!! Hugs, Jean

New Laser Cut Cotton Laces in 1:12 and 1:48 scales Ballroom danced in a Movie
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the idea of Spring or whatever season you are celebrating.
We love Ballroom Dancing and have been taking lessons and dancing now for about 5 years. We had an exciting time a few weeks ago ballroom dancing in the background for a Hallmark Movie, "Once Upon a Prince" that is coming out on TV in April. We danced in the beautiful Ballroom in the Governor General's Mansion here in Victoria B.C. What a terrific experience except it was a 14 hour day, Since most of the time I felt like I was floating to be in such wonderful surroundings with exceptional actors, other dancers and extras.
While back on earth, LOL, I've been really enjoying designing images for my laser lace grouping kits which I sell on Etsy and through our website. I especially enjoy using images from my antique French Needlework books and magazines such as the French Cherub kit in the first photo at 1:12 scale shown with some of a couple of my porcelain pieces I used to sell years ago. The same design is shown below that one in 1:48 scale for curtains and lace trims, pillows and centerpieces. The bottom 3 photos show how the laces are sold with tabs holding the images that just need to be removed.
Have a wonderful mini life. Mini Hugs, Jean

New Laser Cotton Lace Romantic Grouping
One twelfth scale Kit of Laser Cut Cotton Lace Romantic Grouping
Here is a new kit I have just finished thinking of Valentines Day coming in February. Included in this kit are 5 lace pieces for Valentines or another romantic miniature scene. These would look nice in a miniature setting on a dining room table, side table, dresser or on a chair back from vintage to modern I really enjoyed designing these. I am also showing a Romantic Photo Album that is available in Etsy as a digital download to make the album with many of my French postcard images. The 2 porcelain pieces I made and china painted years ago. I will also sell this kit in quarter scale in 2 sizes as well.
Thanks for looking, Mini Hugs, Jean

Poem for the New Year
While I was looking though an old magazine from 1937, I found this beautiful poem. It seemed the perfect poem to start the New Year. by John Richard Moreland. I also loved the simplicity of the illustration that uses positive and negative space so well.
