Happy Nearly Spring!!

Don't you just love the start of Spring! We are so fortunate to live with such beautiful weather. There are so many new flowers and blossoms popping up everywhere in our yard. We have jonquils, a lovely Camellia plant out side our window, so full of vibrant peachy pink blooms. Out front I enjoying perennial primroses in light yellow coming up and tiny crocuses. Even the rhododendrons are starting to have fuller potential blooms.

I've been enjoying designing recently and have quite a few new kits arriving soon. Hopefully a few new kits will be ready for Shelly's A Mini Miniature Show starting March 18. Here is the link

Above is a new kit that happened after I found fabulous children's stickers that I was using in my journal and suddenly thought that cupcakes would be fun to include in doilies. I called Cupcakes and Lace Paper Doilies. I sketched a few cupcakes and decided the ones with cherries on top look the most recognizable. I used the same inside lace designs as my teatime doilies so this is a companion set  to the Teatime Doilies and offered in 3 scales all laser cut on paper. I thought they would be fun to display handmade  Here is a link to the doilies in my Etsy shop. Cupcake doily link.

Caching up and New Quarter Scale Armoire and Frames Kits

Wow, was I ever behind with posting new blogs and showing what I have been doing in quarter scale last year and this. Free Fan Printables

This is another printable project I did for the AIM magazine a few months ago. Just click on the image pages so the each open larger, then right click to save the image to your computer on your desktop or in a file so you can access them to print out at the highest resolution.

I hope you are enjoying some of the seasonal craft shows which are wonderful for ideas for miniatures, great exercise and prefect for some interesting and unusual Christmas gifts. Always nice to support your local artisans. Lovely to chat with them too.

Autumn Harvest Wreath in Watercolour and AIM magazine

I wrote these pages for the last Artisan in Miniature magazine AIM, that was to be available in November and sent them to our fabulous Editor Sally Watson. Shortly after I sent these pages and a few photos for the gallery Sally passed away. So sad for her family and friends. I was shocked and devastated. She did so much of the magazine herself and with the help of the editorial team but she rallied everyone to get motivated and it really worked for me. I had stepped down from formatting the magazine which I enjoyed for years because of my essential tremor in my hands. I will miss Sally's incredible sense of humour and determined personality so much!! We have not heard yet if AIM magazine will continue.

It started free online today and will last until Nov.5. I'm offering 5 roundtables at introductory prices at the show. The Quarter Scale Autumn Wreaths kit (there is a tutorial about painting it in my tutorial blog http://jdayministutorials.blogspot.com/ ), French Dahlia kits in 2 scales and Pumpkin Patch paper doily kit in 2 scales. The other 2 projects are available in my Etsy shop and are digital downloads for you to make the projects shown either with the elements or without. The first is a Recipe Scrapbook from my antique recipe book and the other I've designed using wonderful autumn images and elements.

Summer break, Miniature Shows in Vancouver B.C.,Edmonton Alberta and online

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share these 2 wonderful miniature shows with you. If you are in either of these areas, I hope you will go and see them!! Shelly's great Mini Minature Show is in August but unfortunately I won't be able to do it this time. Here is the link https://aminiminiatureshow.weebly.com/

My website and Etsy are closed for a while for holidays. I want to enjoy the sea and perhaps get some more digital downloads and other miniature designs available for my Etsy shop when I open again and catch up with making stock. Lately I have been enjoying a few terrific Photo Shop videos through Design Cuts to learn more about the program, I love learning new techniques in Photo Shop so much!! I also have a few medical issues and I'm excited about an upcoming operation for my Hyperparathyroidism to fix a few of my problems.

I hope you all have a fabulous summer or winter depending on where you live and take the time to enjoy life to the fullest..
