Thank you so much everyone for your kind comments on my last blog. I have so many more photos of orchids I wanted to share. This photo above reminds me of a June wedding party with the bridesmaids and wedding guests talking! Orchids really would make great miniature fairies and flower children, they have such character. The colours are so amazing. I hope you enjoy! Jean♥
Your orchids are fabulous! I love them, but have always trouble to make them flower again :(
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem, every time! I've heard about keeping them on a stony tray filled with water but I haven't tried it yet. Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
ReplyDeleteOh, never heard about that! When we lived back and forth Finland and Switzerland my orchids bloomed like crazy but the trick was that we put the heat really low in the winter as we weren't in Finland. But now I don't have any cool place enough to keep them over the winter, so no hope. Should still try the stone-water trick with the basic phalaenopsis :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Jean! I never tire of looking at them! I think the tray of stones with water is for the humidity? I've heard the same tip also.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathi and Kim. I don't tire of looking at them either, I figured if I put them on my blog I could look at them more easily too. Yes the water on stones is for humidity, they don't like being watered often I've heard, more into humidity. Was it ever humid in Barbados, had to change my outfit a couple of times a day, perfect for orchids. Jean♥
ReplyDeleteThey are exquisitely beautiful! My FIL grows some of the easier varieties to grow indoors. They are so gorgeous, they almost don't look real!
